"Marugoto" is a textbook that aims to help people understand each other while actually communicating in Japanese. Each topic has a scene where people from various cultural backgrounds interact in Japanese, and there are hints for understanding different cultures in various places such as conversation contents, photographs, and illustrations. In addition, we emphasize the role of voice input in language learning, and there are many classroom activities to listen to natural conversations. Achievement goals of each section are set in the form of task execution (Can-do) of "what can be done using Japanese", and intermediate level 2 (B1) is about familiar topics, the main points and their background. We aim to be at a level where we can properly understand and convey our opinions and thoughts concretely.

豊富なトピックで教室が自然に盛り上がる! 学習者の主体的な発信をサポートし、学び合いの姿勢をそだてます 『まるごと』は人と人が日本語で実際にコミュニーションしながら、お互いに理解し合うことを目指した教科書です。多様な文化背景を持つ人々が日本語で交流する場面を各トピックに設定し、会話の内容、写真、イラストなど、様々なところに異文化理解のヒントがあります。また、言語学習における音声インプットの役割を重視しており、自然な会話を聞く教室活動が数多く設けられています。「日本語を使って何がどのようにできるか」という課題遂行(Can-do)の形で各課の到達目標が設定されており、初中級(A2/B1)は、自分の背景や身の回りの状況など直接関係がある範囲の事柄を表現でき、関心のある話題について短く意見や理由を述べることができるレベルを目指します。

Marugoto is a coursebook for adult learners of Japanese that is based on the JF Standard* for Japanese Language-Education. Learners at Elementary2 level (A2) can accurately express their own ideas and participate in an exchange of information within a range of familiar, everyday topics. Based on the philosophy of “Japanese for mutual understanding," each topic features people from a variety of cultural backgrounds interacting in Japanese.
